SEM-REV-Centrale Nantes operated exclusively by the OPEN-C Foundation

Test site 20km off the coast of Le Croisic for testing full-scale grid-connected prototypes. It has hosted FLOATGEN (floating wind turbine developed by BW Ideol) since 2018 and WAVEGEM (hybrid platform by GEPS Techno) from 2019 to 2021, SeaLHYFE (offshore hydrogen production by LHYFE) since 2023 and a large number of research projects.

Sainte Anne du Portzic-Fondation OPEN-C & Ifremer


Multi-technology test site located in Brest harbor, for 1/10-scale testing of floating wind turbines (EOLINK), hybrid platforms (PH4S by Geps Techno) or instrumentation buoys. This Ifremer site is dedicated to a wide range of research activities. All tests related to Renewable Marine Energies are co-piloted by the OPEN-C Foundation and Ifremer. All instrumentation, materials and environmental monitoring tests and projects are operated by Ifremer.

Paimpol-Bréhat-Fondation OPEN-C

Located off the island of Bréhat in the Côtes d'Armor, the Paimpol-Bréhat site is an offshore test site for the development of the tidal turbine industry. Connected to the grid for full-scale testing, 2 tidal turbines have been tested here since 2008: 3 generations of OPENHydro and the HQ-OCEAN tidal turbine.

SEENEOH-Fondation OPEN-C

Located in the Garonne river, the site is dedicated to testing river or marine tidal turbines on an intermediate scale. It is exposed to strong currents influenced by the Bay of Biscay's diurnal tidal cycle. 3 prototypes have been tested there since 2018: DesignPro, Hydroquest Renewables, Hydrokinetic Power Generation System.

MISTRAL-Fondation OPEN-C

Located in the Mediterranean off the coast of Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône, the 1.7km2 site, with depths ranging from 55m to 70m, will be connected and equipped to accommodate two floating wind turbines and research and innovation projects.
